Problem?
Brainstorm Games needs to bring their card game to an online platform where people can access the game anywhere, anytime and play with other users all over the world.
Solution!
A virtual card game where family and friends can come together, at any time or any place, and join each other in educational wildlife card game.
Why?
A local business has created a card game for people to learn the biology of plant and animals living in the Poconos.
The game creator has only designed a physical version of the game, which can lead to a decrease in user engagement with the product.
With a more accessible product, moving the card game to an online platform will encourage more people to try out the game and invest their time and money into the product.
STRUCTURE
Never let a game piece go missing. All game assets and components available at all times.
RETENTION
Increase subscriptions and sales through the convivence of having a virtual card game, opposed to only physical.
REIGNITION
Spark interest in new users and bring back existing users
I asked people a variety of questions related to DEVOUR (if they were previous users of the physical game) and general questions about their online game experiences.
Some questions I asked them sounded like...
Issues they have when playing the game?
Why is the game important to them?
How much time they spend learning the rules?
How much time they spend playing
How involved they are in the gaming community?
In what ways would they use this game?
How likely/unlikely are they to use this game?
Does this remind them of other interfaces on the game?
How satisfied they are with the game?
I organized the data collected from the user interviews to create a user persona, a user story, and journey map.
Visual ideas and creations…
I created a visual system that suited the aesthetic of DEVOUR. I had to think about decks, cards, tables, etc. I paid attention to details like background environment colors, nature audio sounds, and a table that would best fit the game.
